2006 Election Results Democrats were winners of all but one statewide election in Rhode Island. Incumbent Governor Donald Carcieri narrowly won re-election. Incumbent U.S. Senator Lincoln Chafee lost his position. Bob Seay reviewed the election results with Brown University Political Science Professor Darryl West.
