Pigeon Racing in Rhode Island
Megan Hall
WRNI (May 10, 2005)
They're probably best known for eating discarded food scraps and soiling
public statues, but pigeons actually have a noble past. Homing pigeons
have been messenger carriers and racers for centuries. Although technology
has replaced most uses for the homing pigeon, to the people that love
and raise them, there's no substitute for a good pigeon race. Reporter
Megan Hall tagged along with a new member of the Rhode Island Pigeon Club.
