Reconstructing Providence
In a special edition of the program we present a documentary about the reuse of Providence's historic mill buildings.

Many of the buildings that were part of Providence's past as an industrial powerhouse now suffer from severe neglect and disrepair. Many in the city saw them as eyesores or rattraps. That's changed over the last few years, however, and suddenly these have become desirable spaces, and a popular target for private developers. But renovation and adaptive reuse of the city's mills has sparked intense debate about city's efforts to revitalize the neighborhoods, and the need for artist space in a city and region that promotes the arts.

In Reconstructing Providence: Adaptive reuse, Urban Revitalization & Neighborhood Change, independent radio producer Robin Amer examines the reuse of providence's historic mill buildings over the last few years, and the controversy that's come with it.
