RI Senate Pressures John Celona
Calls for Senator Celona to step down over conflict of interest charges
continue to mount. We talk with Phil West, director of the Rhode Island
Chapter of Common Cause, about how the General Assembly can handle the
controversy.
Project 540
A national project, started by Providence College political scientist
Rick Battistoni, seeks to give high school students a voice in school
reform. A documentary about the project will premier on Rhode Island Public
Television next week. We talk with Battistoni - founder and director of
Project 540, and Melissa Fitzgerald - a senior at Durfee High School in
Fall River and a student leader of their program.
Liberian Refugees
Since the fall, refugees from the African country of Liberia have been
coming to Rhode Island to flee the violence of civil war. WRNI's Brian
Jones reports.
