IF WE BUILD IT, WILL THEY COME?
The Rhode Island Airport Corporation is proposing to expand the runway
at T.F. Green. It says a longer runway could pave the way for larger airplanes,
non-stop coast-to-coast flights, and FedEx cargo planes. We speak with
Cambridge, Massachusetts-based economist and airline industry expert Darin
Lee about the viability of this plan.
NEW ENGLAND MARKETERS TARGET LATINO CONSUMERS
The Hispanic population in Rhode Island has doubled since 1990, and marketing
gurus have taken note. We speak to Vanessa Toledo and Mike Chase, organizers
of next week's New England Hispanic Market Summit, about marketing to
this growing segment of the population.
TEST SCORES MATTER FOR HIGH SCHOOL DROPOUTS
A Brown University study shows that high school dropouts who score higher
on a standardized test earn more on the job than those with lower scores.
We talk to the study's author, Professor John Tyler.

AS220 TAKES OVER RI FOUNDATION GALLERY
The new AS220 Project Space opens today at the Rhode Island Foundation.
The foundation has loaned the gallery space to the Providence-based arts
organization AS220, which will be solely responsible for its exhibitions
and presentations. We speak with AS220 executive director Bert Crenca
about the uncensored, "hands-off" arrangement.
