Police Exam Scandal
The City of Providence is taking action to address a scandal in the police
department that dates back nearly a decade. WRNI's Mark Degon reports
on the internal police investigation that has confirmed cheating on promotional
exams.
RI Ethics - Past and Present
A conversation about Rhode Island's efforts to improve the ethical conduct
of state lawmakers with Brown University political science and public
policy professor Ross Cheit. Cheit was a member of the Rhode Island Supreme
Court's Ethics Commission that examined the credit union crisis in 1991.
Homeless Shelters
For the growing population in Rhode Island's homeless shelters, the critical
question is how to get out and into homes of their own. People have to
cope with both their personal circumstances and with the short supply
of affordable housing. WRNI's Brian Jones visits shelters in the Newport
Area to hear residents tell their stories.

A group of Jazz all stars are touring
to commenmorate the history of the Newport Jazz Festival. The tour will
be at Rhode Island College

Historians in Rhode Island's city-by-the-sea are
celebrating the period known as the jazz age The Preservation Society
of Newport County is hosting a series of concerts, films, talks, and tours
this winter, to highlight the post WWI era in Newport's history. We talk
with the Preservation Society's architectural
historian John Church.
