Catching up with Mark Arsenault

Former ProJo scribe Mark Arsenault is out with his fourth mystery, Loot the Moon, which recently received a very favorable review from the Journal. Arsenault will be signing copies of the book this Saturday, 4 pm, at the Providence location of Borders.

Arsenault, ever the genial fellow, also recently appeared on WPRI/WNAC-TV's Newsmakers. Asked about taking the ProJo buyout amid a tough economy, he described thinking he'd heard a Walter Cronkite quote in which the newsman said everyone should leave a secure job once in their life. The only problem, Arsenault said, was that when he tried tracking down the quote, he couldn't find it.

Gravewriter, Arsenault's third book, was an excellent read. I previously profiled Arsenault in the Providence Phoenix, and David Scharfenberg talked with him about his latest work.

Arsenault also has a story coming up in RI Monthly on RI's 2010 gubernatorial race.
